The flowerbed weeder is a mini scuffle hoe designed specifically for weeding in tight spaces between established plants. The smaller size and shape of the head is designed to prevent unintended damage to neighbouring plant material. It’s so much easier to maneuver than a larger rectangular head.
The hook allows you to dig down to remove the roots of those bigger, more stubborn ones that have got away and are hiding in the back of the bed, and to then pull them out of the bed.
The long handle means you don’t have to bend as much to use this hoe; it also allows you to reach to the back of most beds without having to walk into them.
All Sneeboer long-handled tools are finished with a round ball at the end of the handle. This serves as a grip and, when scuffling, provides a physical reminder that your hand is at the end of the handle. So smart! The longer-than-usual handles mean that you can work in a more upright position, minimizing backache. An especially great feature for tall folks.
