At last, a true digging "Spade" to join our "Golden" line-up. Our first Golden Spade was really a shovel. It came to us being called a spade so we went with it. But now that we have a proper spade from the same manufacturer, we decided

we'd better sort out this naming business.

So the original model will now and evermore be known as the "Golden Shovel", and this new product will be the "Golden Spade". And if you're well and truly confused, please see below for notes on the difference between a shovel and a spade!

This tool is an economical and lightweight digging tool, designed for digging holes, planting, transplanting, and edging.

The comfortable d-handle is made of tubular steel and the rigid steel pipe shaft won’t bend or flex under heavy loads.

What the heck is the difference between a shovel and a spade, you ask?

Generally, spades have flat, rectangular heads and are designed for digging into soil and tough ground. The blade is sharp and often has a footplate or step to aid you in pushing the blade down into the soil. They’re usually used for tougher planting and digging jobs.

Meanwhile, shovels are primarily used for scooping, moving and spreading garden materials; they have a curved head that will hold more volume, and often have a pointed tip so can be used for lighter digging jobs.
