This is a lighter weight, short-handled version of the 7-tine leaf rake, designed for use in raised beds, but I particularly like to use it to gently rake blankets of autumn leaves off shrubs and plants with winter structural value in the fall, particularly evergreens.
Otherwise, with the dense tree canopies in many of my gardens, plants can be completely covered by heavy piles of wet leaves once winter rains start, causing splaying, broken branches and browning out of foliage.
Also, for those of you who have the tidy bug, very useful for clearing out underneath shrubs, when a long-handled rake would be too cumbersome while crawling about on hands and knees.
Has a fitted handle for a better grip and because of the strength of the tines you can also use it to fluff up the soil, tickle in soil amendments, or rake out small annual weeds from hard to reach places.
A small rake is a recommended addition to a basic tool kit - we always have one with us.
The Sneeboer family has been making garden tools for over 100 years. Sneeboer tools are beautifully designed and built for maximum strength and utility - the heads are hand-forged from one piece of stainless steel and they are fitted with ash handles from FSC-certified forests. Each tool is individually shaped, assembled, sharpened, and polished by skilled master craftsmen in their factory in The Netherlands. They are designed and constructed to last a lifetime.
