Short Leaf Rake

This is a lighter weight, short-handled version of the 7-tine leaf rake, designed for use in raised beds, but I particularly like to use it to gently rake blankets of autumn leaves off established shrubs and perennials with winter structural value in the autumn - to prevent splaying, broken branches and browning out of foliage from the weight of wet leaves all winter.

Also, for those of you who have the tidy bug, very useful for clearing out underneath shrubs, when a long-handled rake would be too cumbersome while crawling about on hands and knees.

Has a fitted handle for a better grip and because of the strength of the tines you can also use it to fluff up the soil, tickle in soil amendments, or rake out small annual weeds from hard to reach places.

A small rake is a recommended addition to a basic tool kit - we always have one with us.
