This book is written by one of the founding members of SOUL (Society for Organic Urban Landcare, founded right here in Victoria BC), Heide Hermary. She wrote the book to give gardeners a better understanding of how to support the health not only of humans and plants, but all the other creatures and organisms that live and eat in the garden.
I was lucky enough to do an inspired Soil Management course with Heide, which immensely expanded my understanding of how to garden organically. I subsequently completed the SOUL Organic Master Gardeners course and the Ecological Landscape Design program. Sadly, Heide passed away in 2016, but as a committed organic gardener I hope this little book of hers will inspire you to do things differently in your own garden.
