Very limited quantities available. Don't delay if you want them!
Tobisho pruning tools are the creme de la creme in the Japanese gardening world. They are made in a small family-run factory in Yamagata; production is limited and, because they are exceptionally well-made and such a pleasure to use, they are very difficult to get hold of! We have been able to get a small shipment of these SR-1 secateurs, as well as the Tobisho Pro Snips.
They are a lightweight and extremely well-balanced pair of secateurs, made from one piece of steel, blade to handle, and are super sharp! All of which lessens repetitive strain for the professional gardener who is frequently using secateurs for long stretches of time. It also means that you never have to replace the blades - clean and sharpen regularly and they will last you a lifetime.
The locking mechanism (the clasp at the bottom of the handles) is very deliberate and easy to use, even with gloves on. The lock never accidentally engages. The red and yellow handles are easy to find if you put them down in the garden. But don't! You'll want to keep these safe and sound in your holster.
The softer steel sharpens easily but also means that they are not meant for heavy hacking or opening paint cans.
Tobisho recommends sharpening with the Gouken sharpening stones. Tobisho snips and secateurs come with a spare spring.
