Rosie is a Gardener's Kit regular and the founder of the renowned Butter Baked Goods in Vancouver. She's written a number of cookbooks and this, her newest book, combines the story of the creation of a new garden with recipes using plants and produce she grows in her garden.
As she says, it's less a gardening book than it is a book about her garden and cooking from the garden. As you might expect, the recipes are wonderful and tasty. Often simple (thumbs up for that). I'm a big fan of the rhubarb shrub!
For any of you just starting out on the journey of creating your own garden, this is a lovely book chock full of beautiful and inspiring images - of the garden, structures, plants, flowers, tools, produce, food, chickens, everything!
The photos were taken by renowned British photographer, Andrew Montgomery - how she convinced him to come to Canada to work on the project is a wonderful story in itself.
