Deluxe Garden Toolbelt: 1.0 vs 2.0
When you invest in good quality hand tools, how you carry and store them is key.
1.0 vs 2.0, the short answer:
The 1.0 model is designed to fit the Japanese pruning tools lines that we carry: Okatsune, Niwaki & Tobisho
The 2.0 model is designed to fit the wider style of pruning tools on the market: Felco, Fisker etc
Why use a holster?
I highly recommend using a holster or pouch to keep your everyday basic hand tools on your body. This allows for easy access when you're working, and prevents you from mistakenly dumping them in the compost pile or setting them down under a shrub, never to be seen again!
Tool bags, totes, and tool rolls are a great way to store and carry less frequently used tools. Click here to see the full collection of holsters & tool totes.
Both 1.0 and 2.0 Deluxe Garden Toolbelt models are:
- Handmade in North America.
- Made from thick, supple, oil-tanned leather that is rugged and durable.
- The hori hori sleeve is a proper knife sheath: triple-welted and reinforced with rivets to prevent the sharp blade from cutting through the seams.
- Double reinforced belt line with a center-bar buckle offers extra support.
- All buckles and rivets are made of solid brass and won't rust.
I have been using my toolbelt for several years and am so pleased with it - the wide panel spreads the weight of the tools nicely, there is enough room for me to carry all of my essentials, and it is really comfortable to wear. I'm more organized and that conveys a strong sense of professionalism to my clients.
The one-piece design means that it doesn't slip or slide around on your belt when you bend or crouch, and it's much more comfortable to wear than 2 or 3 separate holsters with individual tools in them. And, most importantly, when you keep your tools are on your body, you don't accidentally dump them in the compost pile or forget where you put them down!
We recommend Smith's Leather Balm to protect and extend the life of your leather toolbelt or holster.
