RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2024

It’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show week and as I look at all sorts of great pictures of gardens and displays on instagram, I’m wishing I had made the trip! You too?

I’ve been once before, in 2016, and it was amazing and huge and overwhelming and crazily packed with massive throngs of people. There are so many inspiring garden design ideas, so much planting excellence, and such a vast array of plant material, garden structures, tools, and arts and crafts. So much great stuff that we never see here in Canada!

Two of our main suppliers have booths every year at Chelsea – Niwaki and Sneeboer. Here’s a sneak peek at some of the photos they’ve been posting from the show this year.

Niwaki products were popping up all around the show this year: at the Niwaki booth on Main Avenue, just around the corner at their ladder stand, and at a number of Chelsea display gardens during the build. Niwaki supplied the gardeners building the gardens with a selection of tools to use during the build: golden shovels, hori horis, pouches, holsters, and enormous orange leafpans were notably visible!

This year, Niwaki is offering a free golden spade with the purchase of any Hasegawa ladder during Chelsea week. In the spirit of Chelsea, we’d like to offer the same perk to our customers here in BC. Sneeboer launched a new short-handled spade in conjunction with Chelsea this year and it was a finalist in the 'Sustainable Garden Product of the Year' competition. They didn't win, but it's still a great new tool that we're looking forward to offering.
