A flathead rake is used for leveling, raking up debris, and breaking up mulch or the soil surface before planting. Also handy for spreading and levelling mulch, the smaller heads with fewer tines are especially useful in crowded beds and borders.
Comes in a few other sizes: 4-tines, 6-tines and 10-tines. A 14-tine model is available for custom order. The more teeth a rake has, the faster an area is covered. The smaller heads are lighter and easier to use for smaller, not-as-strong folks!
Like all Sneeboer tools it is designed for ease of use with ergonomics in mind - the longer-than-usual wooden shaft and the angle of the head makes using the tool for long periods of time easier on the gardener's body.
