This half round transplanting trowel has a sharp pointed tip and sharpened edges that easily cut through roots and heavier soils.
The curved blade has a large soil-holding capacity, larger than the standard transplanting trowel by Sneeboer. It's an excellent tool that can be used as a scoop or for digging - it's excellent for potting, planting, and transplanting work.
The cherry-handled version is almost the same as our ever-popular ash-handled half round trowel - the difference is in the length of the handle.
The longer handle gives you more reach, the option to use two hands to dig your hole, and more gentle leverage when digging up plants (but please don't use it as a prybar, the steel head is so strong that the wooden shaft will break at the attachment point if significant pressure is applied).
